A Royal Decree is a law issued by the head of state, His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman. Once it is officially issued in public, it comes into immediate effect.

A Royal Decree is numbered sequentially along with the year in which is it officiated. For example, Royal Decree No. 52/2006 established the Information Technology Authority (ITA) of Oman and it was issued on the 31st May 2006. Please refer to the complete list of Royal Decrees (http://www.mola.gov.om/maraseemno.htm) issued in Oman (Arabic Only).
